Puerto Rico Bachelorette Party Itinerary – Where to Stay, Eat and Play

Planning a bachelorette party for your favorite betch? Head to Puerto Rico where the sun is always shining and the rum flows freely.

Once I told my friends that I was going to say, “I do!” they quickly asked, “Where to!?” for my bachelorette. Eight of my hottest chicas jumped on a plane and headed to Puerto Rico.

WELCOME BAGS
Before we departed, I used my graphic design skills to create adorable “Bad & Boozy” tanks to go in the bachelorette party swag bags. I also designed a festive itinerary, Advil tag and holder for hair elastics.

Every bachelorette welcome bag needs the following essentials:
– Cute Tank (designed by me!)
– DIY Hair Elastics (Check out this easy tutorial)
Raw Elements Sunscreen (all natural and reef-safe)
– Advil
Sun Bum SPF 30 Lip Balm
– To go cup (I bought mine at Dunkin’ and my friend used her Cricut machine to customize each one)
PartySmart capsules
– Copy of a local lifestyle magazine (in this case, Providence Monthly)
– MentosTHURSDAY
We checked into La Concha Resort, a beachfront resort in Condado. This amazing hotel has not one, not two, but three pools.  While we waited for our rooms, we quickly changed into our bathing suits and then lounged by the pool. Did someone say cocktail? PRO TRIP:  Always back a bathing suit in your carry-on, so it’s easy to grab and go!

Once our rooms were ready (it took forever), we left the pool to get ready for dinner. What I loved about these rooms was sitting area with partial kitchen. It was roomy enough to get ready and party in – oh and the view wasn’t so bad either.

Dinner was at Bar Gitano, a 5 minute walk from our hotel. We enjoyed a flamenco show and tapas before hopping in an Uber to La Placita (formally known as La Placita de Santurce) – the largest outdoor dance party in San Juan. It’s where everyone gathers to dance, drink and party. Walk from bar to bar or just shake it in the Plaza – the choice is yours!

FRIDAY
Rise & Shine – it’s snorkeling time! East Island Excursions picked us up at 7:30am for the Icacos Snorkeling Tour. We had a fantastic day on the water dancing aboard the catamaran and drinking unlimited Rum Punch. Although snorkeling was fun, the myriad of fish species isn’t like what I saw in Hawaii. Nonetheless, we had a great time (and fun photo shoot) on the white sands and crystal clear blue turquoise waters.

Tonight, I wore this “instantly slimming” white dress from White House Black Market (well worth the price) and my BFF’s each wore a different colored dress. I love how the photos came out!

We headed into Old San Juan for dinner at the Al Fresco Rooftop Wine Bar. Ladies in stilettos – watch out for these cobble stoned streets! We shared many laughs and tapas on the roof before walking over to La Factoria. Not only was this club voted one of the Best 50 Bars in the World, but it’s also where Luis Fonsi filmed Despacito. From there, we returned to La Placita for more dancing in the street.

SATURDAY
Started the day with a huge (and delicious) breakfast sandwich from Pinky’s (located across the street from La Concha). Just look at ooey gooey cheese.

Cue the VIP Cabana with DJ at  Sereno Pool overlooking the beach. We danced in the pool singing “Despacito” while drinking rum out of coconuts. Later in the afternoon, we quickly changed and hopped in a cab to Casa Bacardí. Once we arrived at the property, we ordered a cocktail and took some fun photos in their digital booth. The factory tour was quite impressive and the rum tasting was educational and fun.

Our final group dinner was at Ropa Vieja Grill (another short walk from la Concha). If you want to try mofongos, THIS is the restaurant to do it.

With our bellies now full, we Ubered it over to Club Brava – the landmark of nightlife in San Juan. Although we didn’t have our own VIP table, we managed to crash everyone else’s.

SUNDAY
Some of us made it brunch at Blonda, and some of us (Sorry, ladies) did not.

We lounged by the pool for the rest of the day until it was time to say, “Adios, amigas!”  I have the best group of girlfriends and am so blessed that they took the time to leave Rhode Island and Florida to celebrate the end of my single days in Condado.

I definitely recommend San Juan, Puerto Rico for a bachelorette getaway. There is so much to see, do and eat – and there is definitely something for everyone!
